Centring around an on-going commitment to style and quality, Distribuzione Stella is a sound family business and is one of very few entirely Italian small to medium enterprises in the clothing for infants sector. Founded in Putignano, Puglia, through the dedication and hard work of entrepreneur Lucia Totaro, who today is supported by her family in managing the company, Stella has pursued sartorial elegance and excellence since the very beginning. The quality of its creations, upheld over the years due its pursuit of creativity and innovation and its use of only the best materials, is proof of a high level of manufacturing, made possible only through its strict adherence to the concept of “total made in Italy”  - certified by the Institution for the safeguarding of Italian manufacturers – and by a chain of production which is one hundred per cent internal, from the yarn to the finished item.

Over the years the company has always believed and invested in its capacity to offer a product of excellence: first with the Stella line, designed for the large-scale retail market, and then with the creation of Marlù, a ready-to-wear line targeting a more exclusive market.  And today, inevitably, it has reached the point in its journey where it needs to take the next step, complementing and rounding off its existing collection.  The new Marlù “haute couture” line has naturally evolved out of the company’s history, concentrating on what are its strengths – ceremony clothes for infants, from 0 to 3 years of age – and targeting, with its refined elegance and the extreme capabilities of its craftspeople and tailors, its natural reference market: the national and international hi-end & luxury market.

100%

CERTIFICATION

Institute for the protection of Italian MANUFACTURERS

The 100% Made in Italy Certification provides consumers with the guarantee on the Italian orgin and the quality of purchased products.

The certification adheres to all parameters provided for by current Italian legislation: Adoption of the certification guidelines, definition of procedures, management through modules and printouts.

The certification is issued by the Istituto Tutela Produttori Italiani. The management of the certification process with the producers is handled by Promindustria SPA. The certification project has been approved and co-funded by the Italian Ministry for Economic Development.

The Institute mission is to defend, promote and give proper value to true original Italian productions. The Istituto has been the only National Organisation member of the CNEL (National Council for Economy and Labour) for the scope of defence, promotion and proper appreciation on Made in Italy products since 2004.

Over the years the Istituto has made various proposals for legislation to safeguard Italian productions. In order to provide a way to properly appreciate real Italian productions, the 100% Made in Italy Certification has therefore been introduced.
